Good governance
requires the addressing and accommodation of dissent views in the state
affaires. An important expression of people’s real participation is the right
to dissent and express dissent. No family, let alone complex social
organizations such as a nation or community, can be without different point of
view. These differences are essential for the progress of humanity.
What makes
good governance different is the in which such dissent is addressed18.
Just as babies cry due to the negligence of adults, dissent gets louder due to
the negligence of those authority and institutions. It is therefore, the
responsibility of the states and to develop appropriate mechanism to recognize,
acknowledge and addressed dissent.
