Characteristics of offender
An offender is an individual of an age legally or socially responsible for the commission of an offence who commits an act that goes against the laws of the land or against the social norms. An individual involving in abetment, indirect influence, conspiracy, etc. in a certain offence is also deemed to be an offender. An offender must have mens-rea or guilty mind. Unconscious or accidental events do not make liability for the offender. To be an offender the act done by an individual must have harmful consequence against other person or against the humanity either directly or indirectly. After committing an offence, an offender desires some sort of legal or social punishment.
