Direct recruitment process in civil service in BD:Need Assessment
The statutory responsibility of such assessment lies in the MOPA. In MOPA the specific unit responsible for the task is the organization and methods (O & M) wing. This wing invites proposal for vacant posts from 28 ministries or departments or divisions regarding 28 cadre services.
Budget Allocation for recruitment
MOPA shares this function with MOF. It is responsible for making necessary budget allocation for vacant posts.
Advertisement
After getting the order from MOPA, PSC gives advertisement through newspaper and distributes the form through the banks (Sonali Bank). The advertisement thus made provides the following requirements-
- Number of posts
- Number of vacancies
- Age limit
- Grade of pay
- Method of recruitment &
- Requirement of educational qualification and experience
Appendix with the application:
- At first applicants collect an application form which value 200/-tk.
- Bank draft of taka 500
- Attested copy of educational certificates
- 2 copies of photograph

The application forms are sorted and the information has checked and crosschecked.
Preliminary test:
Basically preliminary test is the first stage to check the qualification of candidates for the post. Here the following methods are followed:

Total time- 1 hour
Question type-MCQ
Question- 100 question, each containing 1 mark and .5 marks will be reduced for every wrong answer from the score.
There is no specific mark to pass in this test. It varies from 50-70 marks according to the number of applicants.

Medical test:
